Benchie is a demonstration marketplace, built and run as a portfolio project. It takes no real payments, and the listings in its catalogue are fixture data. These are the rules it runs by, and the rules that apply to any account you create here.
What Benchie is
A catalogue. Companies publish the engineers they have available; other companies pay to see their contact details and then talk to them directly. We are not an employer, not an agency, and not a party to whatever the two of you agree.
Your account
One account per company. What happens under it is yours, so keep the password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has it.
Listing somebody
You may publish an engineer only if they have agreed to be published. What the card says has to be true — the rate, the experience, the availability and the CV. A listing that turns out to be somebody else’s person, or somebody who is not actually free, is removed.
Moderation
Every listing is reviewed before it reaches the catalogue, and one can be refused or removed. A company that keeps publishing listings it should not is banned, and its listings stop being visible at once.
Plans and contacts
A plan buys an allowance of contacts for a month. An opened contact stays open: it remains yours to see even if the listing is later removed, rejected, or its company banned. Unused allowance does not carry over, and cancelling stops the next payment rather than refunding the last one.
What you may not do
- Publish somebody who has not agreed to it.
- Scrape the catalogue or automate access to it.
- Resell or republish contact details you have opened.
- Advertise anything here that is not an available engineer.
What we do not promise
That an engineer is everything their card claims — listings are reviewed, people are not verified. That the site is available without interruption. That a conversation started here ends in a contract. What you agree with another company is between you and them.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like, and we can close one that breaks these rules. Either way the listings stop being visible and an active plan stops renewing.
Changes
If these terms change materially, it will say so on this page before the change takes effect. Carrying on using the site after that is how they are accepted.
